Dressing Ingredients

  • 1 table spoon of soy sauce
  • starch syrup
  • sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • a little bit of pepper

Ingredients

  • A handful of tteokguk rice cake
  • 70g of guobaorou
  • 20g of nuts (pumpkin seeds, walnuts, peanuts, almonds, etc.)
  • 4 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons of red pepper powder
  • sweet and sour sauce for tteokbokki

How to cook

1. Soak the frozen rice cakes in cold water for about 10 minutes and take them out, if you have non-frozen rice cakes put them apart so that they don't stick to each other.

2. Cut the meat guobaorou in half and prepare it as a bite size, and break nuts to make it easy to eat.

3. Mix the sweet and sour sauce(soy sauce, starch syrup, sugar, sesame oil, and pepper) well for later use.

4. Pre-heat a well coated pan with cooking oil over low to medium heat.

5. When the cooking oil gets hot, cook the guobaorou and rice cake evenly as if lightly fried in oil.

6. When the surface of the rice cake starts to swell slightly, lower the heat so that it does not burn, add red pepper powder, mix well, and add the sauce right away. Add nuts and mix them together, and then it's done!
